Privacy Policy
Last updated: 1 November 2026
Capiclue is a free daily capital city guessing game at capiclue.com. This page explains what information is used when you play, and why. In short: there are no accounts, and we don’t ask for your name, email or any other personal details.
What is saved on your device
To make the game work, a few small settings are saved in your browser’s storage on your own device. They are never sent to us:
- your progress and scores for today, for each level
- the level you picked (Easy, Medium or Hard)
- your colour choice (Classic, Bright or Dark)
- whether you closed the “Add to Home Screen” tip
The game also keeps an offline copy of itself on your device so it can open without internet. You can delete all of this at any time by clearing your browser’s data for capiclue.com.
Hosting and basic statistics
Capiclue is hosted and delivered by Cloudflare. Like any website, Cloudflare processes technical information such as your IP address and browser type to deliver the page, protect it from abuse and produce anonymous visitor statistics (for example, how many visits the site gets). See Cloudflare’s privacy policy.
Fonts
The game’s fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, so your browser connects to Google’s servers when you open the page. See Google’s privacy policy.
Advertising and cookies
To keep Capiclue free, we may show ads served by Google AdSense. When ads are shown:
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites.
- Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the internet.
- You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings, or opt out of some third-party vendors’ cookies at www.aboutads.info.
- Visitors in the UK, the European Economic Area and Switzerland will be asked for consent before personalised ads or advertising cookies are used, and can change their choice at any time.

Sharing your score
If you tap a share button (for example WhatsApp, X or Instagram), your score is passed to that app only because you chose to share it. That app’s own privacy policy then applies.
Links to other sites
Capiclue links to other websites, such as Get Me Out of Here. Their own privacy policies apply when you visit them.
Children
Capiclue is a general-audience game. We don’t knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with an updated date.
